Simple and sturdy. The inner core is very solid, zero deformation when my whole weight is pushing on it even when i stand on the roller just to test it . And the exterior foam is of high quality and density, hard enough to provide pressure into your muscle, while soft enough to not give you any discomfort when rolling exercising on this roller.
